Mental illness is an epidemic in our country, costing billions of dollars to employers each year. Research shows that lost productivity due to depression and anxiety costs the global economy $1 trillion per year.

But there's hope. Nearly 75% of workers say they want their employer to invest in mental health…over equity, sustainability, and diversity. And studies show that companies that are willing to talk about mental health at work have improved productivity, employee satisfaction, and retention.

In this session, we will discuss:

  • Prevalence of mental illness worldwide
  • The mental illnesses that are most diagnosed
  • Impact mental illness has on business: retention & productivity
  • Estimated financial impact if companies don’t invest in mental health
  • Signs & Symptoms or Key Indicators
    • How to know if you or someone you know is struggling with mental illness
    • How mental health symptoms may present themselves in a work setting
  • Strategies for Employers & Employees to Create Positive Impact
    • Education
    • Supervision Structure
    • Employee Policies
    • Fostering a Sense of Belonging
  • Immediate Access to Resources in Your Local Community
