AHRM has partnered with Family Promise of Grand Rapids to provide job search and career planning expertise in the form of quarterly events featuring a presentation, a panel discussion, and one-on-one meetings with Family Promise clientele. With SHRM's newly announced Veteran's at Work Certificate Program, ANYONE can become certified in selecting, engaging and retaining veterans to join your workforce. This approximate 10-hour self-paced, self-study program does not require employers to hire veterans, but does equip HR/leaders with the know-how to do so. The SHRM Foundation believes that veterans are valuable members of our workforce. This programs helps to advance SHRM's mission to further engage veterans in employment in the US. In addition, SHRM also annually awards scholarships, including more than twenty to HR professionals that are committed to hiring military service members.
